Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 4, 2012Lading Manager Lite allows users to create professional-looking bills of lading (shipping). It's not the most sophisticated program we've ever seen, but it does serve its purpose. The program's interface is perhaps its most unattractive feature; it's not entirely unintuitive, but it does look very dated. The built-in Help file is quite comprehensive, but most users who have any familiarity with creating bills of lading should be able to figure the program out quickly on their own. Users must first enter information for their company, carriers, origins, consignees, and equipment. Once these are in the database, users simply create a new bill of lading, select the appropriate parties, and fill in the contents and other needed information. There are options for COD, signatures, and delivery/pick-up. The program helpfully offers a built-in print preview so users can view their bills before printing; the bills are simple but clean-looking and easy to read, and users can optionally add their own logos to them. Users can also e-mail bills and print labels, and reports can be run listing bills of lading for a specific date range. Overall, despite the unattractive interface, we found Lading Manager Lite fairly easy to use, and we think it would be a good option for small and medium-size businesses.Lading Manager Lite has a 30-day trial period. It installs desktop icons without asking but uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
