The software's 3D interface mimics a real DJ setup, with two turntables and any imported MP3 or WAV file being represented in a stack of virtual wax. Basic effects such as pitch control, cross-fading, and RPM selection are easy enough to use, although those wanting to really mix it up will likely be left wanting more. A limited scratch tool also is available. The $29.95 price tag makes Tactile12000 an affordable and fun way to create MP3 playlists with a bit more pizzazz, but those who want serious DJ tools, such as automated beat matching and looping, should look elsewhere.
